Dental Veneers

They are most commonly made from porcelain or resin, both of which are permanently set on your teeth. All Star Dental Care knows exactly what they are doing when it comes to crafting and installing veneers.

What are Veneers Used For?

Veneers are used to treat multiple different cosmetic teeth issues that you are worried about. Some of the most common reasons that people get veneers are for chipped, broken, discolored, or a tooth that is smaller than the rest.

Some people opt for only one veneer to fix a cracked or broken tooth, while others may choose to get six to eight for a more symmetrical and flawless smile. It is most common to apply veneers to the eight front top teeth.

Types of Veneers

Veneers are most commonly made from porcelain due to the strength and the ability to look identical to your normal teeth. You can also choose between traditional veneers or no-prep veneers.

Traditional veneers will require more preparation, including grinding and reshaping your teeth. This may even include removing some of the teeth if it is necessary. Your veneers will be placed properly and permanently. Traditional veneers cannot be reversed. It is extremely common to need anesthesia for this procedure.

No-prep veneers may require a very slight amount of tooth alterations. Instead of removing layers of your tooth, this type of preparation alters a little bit of the tooth enamel. It is very likely that you can get this procedure done without anesthesia.

It is important to remember that veneers are not implants or crowns. Veneers only cover the front surface of your tooth, not the entire tooth. Veneers are strictly used to create a flawless look.

How Much Do Veneers Cost?

Veneers are considered cosmetic, so it is very uncommon for your insurance to cover the cost. You can expect to pay between $925 and $2,500 per tooth for traditional veneers that will last from ten to fifteen years with proper care. For no-prep veneers, you will pay between $800 and $2,000 per tooth and they will last between five and seven years. The cost will ultimately depend on what type of veneer you are choosing, what brand name the dentist has available, and the expertise of the dentist performing the procedure.

Benefits of Veneers

The biggest benefit to getting veneers is that they will improve the appearance of your teeth and give you a more even smile. Veneers can cover a broken or chipped tooth, a discolored tooth, gaps in between your teeth, a pointed or oddly shaped tooth, or a tooth that is smaller than all the rest of your teeth. Veneers are a semi-permanent treatment that can help you feel more confident in your smile.
